We will be breeding in early Winter this year and are starting a waiting list of potential owners whom we will contact as soon as we do a breeding. Please take a few minutes to read through our puppy pack before filling out our questionnaire. It will answer most of your questions, save a lot of time for both of us and give you a glimpse into life here at Cherrywood. We hope you enjoy it Our companion puppies are sold on AKC "limited registration" which means though they cannot be shown in conformation, nor bred they will be able to participate in AKC performance events like Rally obedience, Obedience trials etc. If you are an experienced handler or breeder and are interested in a potential show/breeding puppy from us please contact me to discuss our requirements. We are accepting questionnaires now for our U and V litters which will be bred in 2011. (LCA member breeders start out with the letter "A" as their first litter and move through the alphabet. As you can see, Cherrywood has been breeding for quite a long time now!) I will choose your puppy for you. The puppies are matched up with their new owners when they are close to eight weeks old, after evaluations and apptitude testing so we can place each puppy in the best home both for it and the owner. In consideration of the stress and safety issues, we do not ship puppies. It is in the pups' best interest and also because we want to meet the people our puppies will live with. You will be able to pick them up and take them in the cabin of the plane on a number of airlines though. Please read through our Puppy Pack and read about our contract which will answer most of your questions about the breed and our kennel, then fill out and return our puppy questionnaire to Cherrywood Kennels. I will contact you so we can talk and get to know each other better when we do a breeding in the next month or so. Cherrywood receives a lot of inquiries and if I do not have your questionnaire, I will probably not remember to contact you when we do a breeding. Please do not be intimidated by our questions. Your answers can help me choose the best match for you and your family if you are clear about the one thing you want most to do with your pup. If you have never attended a dog show, I would question your “interest” in showing seriously. If you have never investigated what therapy work entails, I would wonder about your plans for a "therapy dog." Dreaming is fine but doesn't help me choose your best match. Through honest and thorough input from my buyers, I have done an excellent job in most cases of matching the right pup with the right owner. So, if you think you have an interest in something special, make the leap and investigate it now, so you can "wow" me before you get your puppy! Thank you for your interest in Cherrywood Kennels!
